St. Antoine’s K-14 School benefits over 700 students. Some of these students come from Fondwa, while many others travel several hours, from 6 neighboring rural communities, to attend the school.
Since the fall of the original building in the 2010 earthquake, gracious donations of $600,000 were made to complete a new earthquake-resistant secondary school.
The kindergarten and primary school students are still meeting in temporary plywood classrooms six years after the quake. For $760,000 these students will have two beautiful new earthquake-resistant buildings in addition to a cafeteria, teacher dorm and administration section. The additional space will also allow for an additional 130 children from surrounding villages to join the school.
Cost of teacher salaries is $9,000 per month. With $6,000 per month currently promised on a continual basis, only $3,000 per month is needed to keep this most important endeavor going.
